Humboldt (Paul L mix 2002)

from Unreleased Delights by I See Hawks in L.A.

/

about

This is the original 2002 recording of Humboldt, which started with Rob and Paul L banging on a big frame drum and chanting, then adding guitars and everything else. We'd just bought a good mic and a 16 track home recorder, were pretty excited about the possibilities.

This contains the original line, "you can have your September 11, I'm heading off to a stoney heaven." We changed it after playing NYC and seeing bewilderment on faces in the audience. It was too soon and too raw. But we may be the first band in America to call bullshit on George Bush.
