Hawks Live at The Palms

by I See Hawks in L.A.

I know we’ll never see Trees that used to be Blanketing Ohio The panther and the Iroquois And geese that used to fly Blacken autumn skies South across Ohio South towards Mexico Not long ago CHORUS: Gives me hope against hope Hope against hope Hope against hope I know that you and I Will never spark prairie fires Or walk to Oregon But we still soldier on and on To take a hopeless stand On wild Dakota land After you and me The Snake and Colorado will run free CHORUS: Montana blue Illinois gold and green Tears from your eyes I don’t want to fight But I can’t sleep

Twelve tracks from a live electric show at The Palms theater in Winters, CA in February 2016. It was one of the last shows put on by Dave Fleming at The Palms (rumored to be re-opening), so it was packed out and very emotional. We got to meet a lot of the San Joaquin Valley old time hippies. This is from a KVMR live broadcast, funky levels and the imperfections of live, but spiritous performances all around, feeling the love from the crowd.

released December 7, 2016

Rob Waller, acoustic guitar, lead voc; Paul Lacques, electric guitar, bg voc; Paul Marshall, bass, bg voc, lead vocs; Victoria Jacobs, drums
